After graduating from the University of Queensland and working in Melbourne in a busy sports medicine clinic, Anita moved to Adelaide in 1995 pursuing her strong interest in dance sports medicine. Anita’s understanding of the Pilates method, general strength and conditioning and correct dance alignment/technique is strengthened by her lecturing roles to the pre-professional dance students at Adelaide College of the Arts, post-graduate physiotherapists studying at the University of South Australia and to interstate physiotherapists on the screening of dancers. Additionally, she works with touring dance companies and shows to assist with the management and rehabilitation of the performer’s injuries as they travel through SA.
Anita also holds an appointment with Tennis Australia to provide physiotherapy services both at the Australian Open and at professional tournaments throughout Australia. This carries on from past experience with SASI diving, gymnastics and tennis squads, Richmond Football Club, and coverage of state, national and international gymnastic competitions.
This high level of involvement in sport and dance has lead to a specific interest in the care and management of hip and groin pain, whether you are trying to maintain a healthy lifestyle or whether you are pursuing a high level sporting activity.
