Carl Glyde is a musculoskeletal and dance physiotherapist at PhysioTec, Tarragindi, Brisbane. With a background in dance performance, competing and teaching, Carl is well versed in the kinds of injuries dancers tend to sustain. He has a special interest in injury prevention and helping people move well, which is equally applicable to anyone with musculoskeletal pain as it is to dancers.
Carl is also an APA Titled Musculoskeletal Physiotherapist of the Australian College of Physiotherapists and has a Master's degree in musculoskeletal physiotherapy, bringing with it expertise in management of spinal pain and injury.
Carl is an experienced Musculoskeletal Physiotherapist, with almost a decade working to assist people with pain in clinical practice. He completed his undergraduate Bachelors of Physiotherapy degree at the University of Otago in New Zealand, which he followed up with a Post Graduate Certificate in Rehabilitation at Otago Polytechnic, and then his Masters in Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy at the University of Queensland, providing expertise in management of spinal pain and injury.
In addition to tertiary studies, Carl has trained extensively with world renowned experts in manual therapy (hands-on) treatment techniques, as well as shoulder, hip, and dance management, and retains a special interest in these areas. A paper on lower limb osteoarthritis he was involved in writing was recently published in the Journal of Musculoskeletal Science and Practice.
Outside of physiotherapy, Carl is a keen dancer, starting with salsa in 2016 and quickly reaching a performance level in multiple latin styles. More recently he and his wife taught regular salsa classes in Airlie Beach and Mackay.
A session with Carl will involve expert diagnosis, the development of a comprehensive and holistic treatment plan, and effective pain relief through manual therapy, advice and education and exercise strategies. Carl aims to reduce your pain as quickly as possible, while working on longer term goals of addressing underlying contributors to your condition.
