About Dr. Molly Connolly

Dr. Molly Connolly, Hip Pain Professional, is a Physiotherapist, Exercise and Sports Scientist, and Pilates instructor at PhysioTec, Tarragindi, Brisbane.

Molly completed her Bachelor of Applied Science (Exercise and Sport Science) at the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology in 2014 before going on to study her Honours at La Trobe University and her PhD at Victoria University exploring the causes of low back pain in elite adolescent tennis players.

Molly joined the PhysioTec team after working with a variety of sporting organisations across Australia, most notably: the Australian Institute of Sport (AIS), The Boston Red Sox and Tennis Australia. Here, Molly provided a range of biomechanical services including 3D technique analysis, equipment tailoring services and researched various load monitoring technology.

Molly has also provided regular sports science and post-match recovery services to Australian Tennis Open athletes for the past 7 years.

Following a 6 year career in elite sport Molly wished to work with a broader demographic in the injury space and went on to study her Masters of Physiotherapy at the University of South Australia (UniSA). Here, Molly found her love for working with people from all walks of life and helping them achieve their goals. Molly combines her previous experience with evidence-based practice to manage a wide range of musculoskeletal conditions.

Since joining the team at PhysioTec she has benefited from additional training and mentoring from Dr. Alison Grimaldi and sees a high volume of patients with hip, groin and buttock pain. This has substantially elevated her experience with assessment and management of hip conditions well beyond others at a similar point in their physiotherapy career.

Outside of work Molly has a wide variety of interests. Molly loves the outdoors and can often be found paddle boarding, swimming, running, cycling, or camping. She also loves to bake and garden when at home.
