Melissa Turner is an experienced physiotherapist who graduated with a Bachelor of Science (Physiotherapy) from Sydney University, and later completed a Masters Degree in Sports Physiotherapy. She is a Titled Sports and Exercise Physiotherapist and a Member of the Australian College of Physiotherapists.
With over 20 years of experience working across both private practice and Defence, Melissa brings a depth of knowledge and a strong commitment to empowering her patients to understand their condition and actively engage in their rehabilitation.
Melissa has completed an extensive series of courses with Dr Alison Grimaldi and is an active member of the Hip Academy, keeping her at the forefront of current research and best-practice management for hip conditions. She has a particular clinical interest in women’s hip health, including the treatment of hip tendinopathies, and in men’s hip health, supporting surf life savers and surfers in managing hip-related injuries and enhancing performance.
Her expertise spans a wide range of hip and lumbo- pelvic presentations, including femoroacetabular impingement, labral pathology, osteoarthritis, and post-surgical rehabilitation. She combines manual therapy with strength-based rehabilitation and draws on her training with Hip Academy to tailor specific exercise programs, ensuring safe and effective recovery for each individual.
